Novak Djokovic is jealous of Jannik Sinner’s future achievements” – Italian’s fans furious with his doping ban being highlighted by PTPA in lawsuit
Jannik Sinner’s fans expressed outrage as the lawsuit filed by the Novak Djokovic-led PTPA highlighted his doping ban as an example of double standards within tennis authorities. The organization took a bold step by filing a historic Class Action lawsuit against the ATP, WTA, ITIA, and ITF on Tuesday, March 18, demanding significant reforms in the sport.
Sinner’s three-month ban sparked controversy, with many believing it reflected double standards in player treatment. However, no organization had previously taken legal action over these concerns until the PTPA recently did.
The PTPA compared Sinner’s case to that of Marco Trungelliti, accusing the ITIA of “selective” treatment toward the Italian while failing to protect the Argentine pro after he reported match-fixers to tennis authorities.
When these claims surfaced on X, Jannik Sinner’s fans voiced their frustration over the repeated accusations of preferential treatment. Many pointed out that the World No. 1 had followed the legal procedures and served his ban accordingly. Some fans even speculated that Novak Djokovic played a role in bringing up the Italian’s case in the lawsuit.
“Djokovic is jealous of Sinner. Yes he has 24 slams and is the 4th greatest player of all time. He is simply jealous of Sinner’s youthfulness and future achievements,” one fan wrote.

“They’re a complete JOKE. All these flops and washed players,” another fan wrote.
“An association who only moves for and when Novak decides to, cherry-picking at its finest 😂😂” a third fan commented.
Here are some more Jannik Sinner fans expressing their frustration over his mention in the lawsuit.
“There are still psychopaths who continue to slander Sinner. An association of frustrated losers,”
“Jannik its time to sue these cvnts, its long overdue,” another fan wrote.
“Yes but it would be necessary for Jannik to start taking legal action… we can’t let everything slide. Especially now that the matter is concluded and all the sports institutions including Wada are not talking about a doping case,” yet another fan wrote.
The ATP and the WTA have released statements defending themselves from the allegations stated in the lawsuit by the PTPA.
ATP issues strong response to Novak Djokovic-led PTPA’s recent lawsuit

The ATP has responded firmly to the lawsuit filed by the Novak Djokovic-founded Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA). The case, submitted on March 18, 2025, also names other key tennis governing bodies, including the WTA, the ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency), and the ITF.
The PTPA’s lawsuit alleges that the governing bodies have subjected players to financial exploitation and violated their privacy rights. Filed in New York, Brussels, and London, the case accuses these organizations of engaging in anti-competitive and restrictive practices.
In response, the ATP released a strongly-worded statement, emphasizing its role in player welfare while attempting to refute the claims made by the PTPA.
“While ATP has remained focused on delivering reforms that benefit players at multiple levels, the PTPA has consistently chosen division and distraction through misinformation over progress. Five years on from its inception in 2020, the PTPA has struggled to establish a meaningful role in tennis, making its decision to pursue legal action at this juncture unsurprising,” the statement read.
The ATP reaffirmed its commitment to defending the case vigorously while outlining its vision for the future and condemning the PTPA for filing the lawsuit.
Additionally, they emphasized their efforts to maintain a fair and transparent system for all players. Previously, Novak Djokovic had also voiced his criticism of the ATP’s payment structure, calling it unfair.
