Nick Kyrgios hits back at Andy Roddick for ‘Dumb a*s’ response about Jannik Sinner’s doping saga

Nick Kyrgios has expressed his disapproval of Andy Roddick’s support for Jannik Sinner amidst the doping allegations against the Italian player. Sinner, who has twice tested positive for clostebol, a banned substance, is still permitted to compete by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA). Kyrgios questioned Roddick’s stance in light of the controversy surrounding Sinner.

Jannik Sinner presented solid evidence to an independent tribunal organized by the ITIA to support his defense. He explained that the banned substance, clostebol, entered his system accidentally after his psychotherapist used a spray containing the substance during a massage.

On August 22, the ITIA announced that while Jannik Sinner would not face suspension, he would lose his ranking points and prize money from the Indian Wells tournament. This decision sparked backlash from various tennis players and legends, who criticized the ITIA for being too lenient and called for harsher penalties.

Nick Kyrgios notably called for a two-year suspension for Jannik Sinner following the doping controversy. However, Andy Roddick defended Sinner, arguing that the Italian was not given preferential treatment by the tennis authorities. Roddick also pointed out that Sinner was not contaminated with the banned substance during the Australian Open.

Kyrgios took to social media to express his disagreement with the American legend, describing the legend’s statement as absurd.

Do you understand how quickly this stuff exits your system? Cream, gummies literally hours. Ridiculous statement.

An X user then questioned Kyrgios’s statement against Roddick, leading the Australian to react with anger. Roddick then replied, correcting his English rather than staying on the topic of discussion.Kyrgios then hit out to Roddick, asking for an explanation of the American legend’s prior statement about Sinner.
