More trouble for Barcelona! Blaurgrana unable to register €55m Dani Olmo with La Liga as ANOTHER new signing faces anxious wait
Barcelona are currently unable to register Dani Olmo, despite having spent €55 million (£46 million) along with an additional €7 million (£5 million) in add-ons to secure his transfer from RB Leipzig.
Barcelona’s financial challenges are well-documented, yet despite these difficulties, the club has successfully secured several high-caliber signings in recent seasons. In the ongoing summer transfer window, they managed to bring in Spain’s Euro 2024 hero, Dani Olmo, from RB Leipzig, showcasing their ability to attract top talent even amid financial constraints.
Dani Olmo has already begun training with Barcelona and is anticipated to play in the club’s upcoming Joan Gamper Trophy final against AS Monaco on Monday. However, it remains uncertain whether the club will be able to register him in time for their La Liga opener against Valencia on Saturday.
According to Cadena SER, Barcelona recently secured a €40 million deal with catering and logistics firm Aramark. However, they still need to raise an additional €60 million to cover outstanding payments related to the sale of Barca Vision. If the club fails to raise this remaining amount, they will be unable to register any more players for the 2024/25 La Liga season.
In addition to Dani Olmo, several other key players, including Vitor Roque, Inigo Martinez, Clement Lenglet, and Eric Garcia, have yet to be registered with La Liga. With the new season set to begin this weekend, sporting director Deco and president Joan Laporta face the urgent task of finding a solution to ensure these players are formally registered before the club’s season opener.
