“I think he’s going to get one eventually”: Tim Henman backs Alexander Zverev to clinch US Open 2024 title

Tim Henman has predicted that Alexander Zverev will win the US Open 2024. The tournament, which started on Monday, features top players from around the globe competing for the prestigious title.

Tim Henman, formerly Britain’s top player, recently spoke to the Daily Express, where he identified Alexander Zverev as a strong contender for the US Open 2024 title. The 49-year-old acknowledged the high level of competition in men’s tennis, noting that several players could potentially win. However, he expressed skepticism about world number one Jannik Sinner’s chances, suggesting that distractions could hinder his performance in the tournament.

Henman mentioned that he doubts Jannik Sinner’s chances due to his recent hip issue and the ongoing distraction from his positive test for an illegal substance, despite being cleared. Henman believes these factors could impact Sinner’s performance over the course of the US Open. He acknowledged that picking Alexander Zverev might seem unconventional, but he still expects Zverev to secure a Grand Slam title eventually.

Alexander Zverev, who was the runner-up at the 2020 US Open, began the 2024 tournament strongly by defeating Maximilian Marterer in four sets. Zverev’s impressive performance in the first round suggests he could be a serious contender for the title.
